What Is Invisalign?

Traditional metal braces include metal bands, wires, and brackets connected to your teeth. Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners worn in a series as your teeth are gently moved to a new position over time. The aligners are custom-made to move with yourspecific teeth in a precise sequence. Each aligner is worn for two weeks before you switch to the next one in the series.

Depending on the amount of orthodontic work needed, Invisalign aligners are worn for a year or less. The aligners should be worn as much as possible, but you may remove them as needed. Even if you choose to wear Invisalign at events, most people won’t even know you have aligners over your teeth.
